A Website for the CSE dept

The Computer Science & Engineering department (CSE) launched a website on the 21st February 2007. The objective is to provide simple, up-to-date, and relevant information on research, teaching and consulting activities in the CSE department.

“For a long time, the department was not visible on the Internet. Now prospective students and colleagues from other universities who want to work with us can easily get the information they need”, says Avinash Meetoo, Chairman of the CSE Website Committee.

The website caters for all those who might want to interact with the department. A crucial target audience is Mauritian companies and to that effect, a list of all lecturers willing to do consultancy work within their areas of expertise is available on the website. Mr Meetoo thinks that “this will greatly help to enhance the link between the industry and the department”.

The website was developed over two months by Avinash Meetoo, Pascal Grosset, Begum Durgahee, Soulakshmee Ghurbhurrun, Dr Shakuntala Baichoo and Sheeba Armoogum. The open-source content management system Drupal was used in the design.

The website can be accessed at http://cse.uom.ac.mu/
