Donation of IT Equipment by ReCoMaP to support Integrated Coastal Zone Management courses at the Faculty of Science

Mr Michel de San, Project coordinator of the Regional Programme for the Sustainable Management of the Coastal Zones of the Countries of the Indian Ocean (ReCoMaP), handed over IT equipment to the Faculty of Science of the University of Mauritius during a donation ceremony held on Wednesday 9 February 2011 on the University campus.

ReCoMaP is an initiative of the Indian Ocean Commission, funded by the European Union and was set up to promote sustainable use of marine and coastal resources in seven focussed countries namely the Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Kenya, the Seychelles, Somalia and Tanzania. This project adopts an integrated approach involving all stakeholders concerned with coastal resource management whilst seeking to reconcile development activities with the maintenance of optimal ecological conditions.
